Silchar and its scenic beauty

For onething Silchar has kept me handful, is its breathtaking beauty. Being a Siliguri boy, mountains are nothing new to me. But the nature of mountains here are a little different than the Himalayn range. For instance, the house from where I'm bloffing this is built on such a small pick(or rather platue). The place where I snapped this pic is called Sidhheswari Mandir. Near the Assam University. There aren't many places to visit nearby, so masu and jethu told we should visit this as it has a very nice surroundings. Mom and masu went in the Allto and me,dad and jethu went into the Indigo. Well quite a luxury car that was. After we reached there was nothing to see, except this...Well the surroundings were really nice. But it was almost dawn so none of my pics came quite to my liking except this one. If only this place had a little rain and been a little cooler...

Silchar

So yesterday I reached Silchar. Actually I'm in assam university. Residing in a VC's house is quite amusing. One of the advantages of being here is that at this moment I'm blogging :) And Encoding "Bombai er bombete" Its quite enjoyable here. Except the fact that I really didn't expect it to be so much hot here. Really, for heavens sake, isn't Shilchar supposed to be a lot more cooler. I mean come on...I know Guwahati is hot (unlike the girls I've seen there so far, except a few though) but Shilchar too?? And what a journey it was from the Airport. The Shilchar airport (if it can be called airport) is a small aerodrome. And the Assam University is alomst 48kms away from the Airport!!! Even Shilchar is 22kms from it (even then the A.U is almost 26kms from the town). Nothing to say much about Silchar. No fantasies there. Just a di rty little town crowded with people just like Siliguri and Kolkata. But this place, where I am now is so much different. It...
This snap was taken tonight. From left Mitropam,Me and Ananyo. These are the closest friends I have. A feeling of nostalgia is engrossing me. Don't know why. I'm gonna leave for silchar tomorrow, a trip of a week with my family. But just before parting with these tonight caused quite a stir in me. I'm not a emotinal creature by nature. But tonight felt different. Mitul already started for chennai and in a year or two both me and anayo will wither away somewhere else. I know this, have always known this still... :) Curiosly enough nobody except µ till date has been able to stir such emotional diasaster in me. I thought only she was the queen in this. Anyway...enough of this. Its already 11:53. I have to uplaod a lot of pics, Pack my bag and do a lot of unnecessary things I know I'm not remotely interested to do. Still i know I will do. Thinking when I'll go back to Kol. MAybe 11th...That Microsoft Seminar I've been invited too. Then juu...

Firefox Add ons

How to make Firefox addons compatible with the newest release. Everybody likes to try out the newest version of Firefox. At the time I was writing this Firefox 3.1 beta 1 was available. When you install it you will find some of your existing Firefox add-ons may have already been updated to work with the new version. Others won’t install at all. Don’t be surprised if some of the add-ons you modify to be compatible, bring Firefox to its knees. They don’t let you install older versions for a reason. But so I’ve had no problems at all. Step 1 – Downloading the add-on Locate the add-on you want to install. If it’s on the official Firefox add-on page you’ll have to click “See All version” to be allowed access to the .xpi. Right click on the now clickable “Add to Firefox” button and choose save target file as. Step 2 – Extracting the add-on. Locate the add-on you just saved. You should be able to open the .xpi file with your favorite compression utility. I use Power Archiver and it seemed to ...
My time in home is almost up for my this trip. And everytime I leave this town, the same emotions swell inside me. The same story unfolds itself....everytime. Wonder when I'll be out of this µ-ish trance....anyway. Changed the layout of this blog yesterday. And I'm thinking whether to keep rolling in this blogger post or whether to shift up to my own wordpress. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. Anyway will figure it out later. And maybe i'll create a different and more formal blog for my technical posts. I think i'd like to keep my technical part and my sluggish lazy part apart :) Maybe this will later turn out to be informal public diary :D Who knows. Anyway have to get up now. Maybe will post again at night. HAve lot to do now. And a technical article is also due to be posted.
Okkk. i'm back after a long time. Looks like my life will always be a Roller coaster ride. well for atleast blog i'm leaving µ alone. Anyway. i'm quite finished with my site www.edg.co.in Its my 2nd try after www.siliguricollege.org But still its not finished. And its aesthetically crippled too. Gonna work on that..... Apart from that yesterday I managed to break into a HP PAVillion dv2000 laptop's Bios. WOW something they told me not possible :) Have a treat due. And tonight after a long long time i again joined Scodz.

Google Audio Indexing

GAudi is short for Google Audio Indexin g, and it’s the latest experiment to be added to the Google Labs . This service lets you do a text search for spoken words in videos of YouTube’s US politicians channels. The functionality was previously already available as part of an iGoogle gadget . Will Google ever manage to apply this technology to all YouTube videos – and perhaps even videos not contained on YouTube, but available from other video upload platforms? Google in their FAQ write that the aim of GAudi “on Google Labs is broader and the US election is just a first step. We see it as an experiment platform where we can learn what features make the best user experience for people looking for spoken content on the Web.”
